Pixipals (2026)

Title/
Co-Director

Job Description/
I was in charge of setting up the Toon Boom Harmony files so that the compositing team could create the animated sequences’ shading through a proprietary software called “Pantheon”, within Nuke. This process allows for procedural shading of the characters using realistic shadows that “track” each part of the 2D characters as they move in 3D space. In order to achieve this, each part of the character needs to be separated into sections with solid colors called “Color Mattes”, which are then rendered in separate passes. My task involved setting these character color mattes, as well as to secure the quality of the clean-ups made by the animation team, so that they were ready for compositing.

Project Description

Harold and the Purple Crayon is a 2026 Horror short film directed by Indi Solis and Neko Pilarcik-Tellez that uses a combination of live action and pixel art animation to tell the story of a narcissistic abusive relationship.

Logline

When an insecure young woman becomes obsessed with a vintage virtual pet, the game begins watching back, warping her sense of self until the line between player and player dissolves.
